Ozgur Tohumcu, CEO of Tantalum Corporation, was interviewed on BBC Business Live this week regarding PSA Groupe’s purchase of Opel/Vauxhall from General Motors, Ozgur commented on the sale and its likely effect on the European market, as well as potential strategies the sale allows PSA Groupe. Ozgur also touched on the emerging trends in the car industry, including the connected car and Clean Air agendas.
“You highlighted one major trend around electric vehicles, and you have the drive towards autonomous vehicles. There is not much talk about how the new entity will be embracing these new trends. We have to realise that all of these companies need to embrace these big shifts in the car industry in order to be successful in the long run.”
