Former senior Ericsson executive joins Tantalum to drive Connected Car ecosystem
Tantalum Corporation (“Tantalum”) today announces the appointment of Ozgur Tohumcu as Chief Executive Officer with immediate effect. The move sees the current CEO, Cédriane de Boucaud Truell take the position of President while also remaining on the Board as a key investor director.
Ozgur joins Tantalum to help develop its position as the leading provider of Connected Car technology. Tantalum’s end-to-end ecosystem of services is underpinned by a global billing and payment platform, Pay.Car, and integrates insurance, crash detection, roadside assistance, parking and accident management services.
Ozgur has a formidable track record of marketing, selling, and delivering end-to-end digital solutions. He joins Tantalum from Ericsson, where he was the Vice President, IT & Cloud, responsible for Western & Central Europe.
Since 2012, Ozgur has been responsible for leading teams focusing on Ericsson’s growth portfolio in digital, cloud and Internet of Things, serving Tier 1 telco service providers and enterprises. He has successfully positioned leading edge technology as an enabler for business transformation.
This announcement follows the 2017 Mobile World Congress held in Barcelona. At this year’s event, the Internet of Things, which has been little more than a buzz phrase in recent times, took centre stage. The Internet of Things has enabled digital transformation and now boasts strong momentum, fueled by trends in mobility, cloud adoption and data analytics. Tantalum’s payment platform and ecosystem offerings sit at the centre of this transformation, providing solutions to real-life issues for the automotive sector, insurance market and pollution control.
